The MOWA Choctaw Housing Authority has begin administering programs from the American Rescue Plan Grant. The first two programs we are starting are the Rehabilitation and Broadband Internet programs. The Rehabilitation program aims to help repair homes of low-income, elderly , and disabled Tribal members affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Broadband Internet program aims to bring high-speed internet to the Mount Vernon, & McIntosh Tribal members by partnering with Millry Communications & LandSea Wireless internet providers. The MOWA Choctaw Housing Authority will pay up to $325 of installation fees for high speed internet. Any additional installation costs and monthly bills will be the responsibility of the applicants to pay. We will begin taking applications for these programs February 16, 2022 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Starting February 22, 2022 applications will only be accepted by appointment only, so please call the tribal office to schedule an appointment with Dustin Williams, Morgan Byrd, or Austin Reed. Be sure to bring copies of your Driver’s License, Tribal Card, Social Security Card, and Proof of Income for the application process.
