MoWa Choctaw Housing Authority is a tribally designated housing entity established to access, construct, and manage housing for tribal members. The Mowa Choctaw Housing Authority operates and maintains an affordable, safe, and decent rental housing and home ownership program within the counties of Mobile and Washington. MCHA staff is available to assist with completing an application in our office in Mt. Vernon, AL.
The MoWa Choctaw Housing Authority also strives to provide supportive services and resources to residents and community members to better enable their individual and group ventures toward self-sufficiency, health, stability and improved lifestyles.
We are Proud Partners in Education with Calcedeaver Elementary School and McIntosh Elementary Schools.
* Applications for housing assistance are taken Monday-Friday of each week and must be filled out in the office.
Payments are due on the 1st of each month.
The office is open Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm
Housing Authority Board of Commissioners meeting second Thursday of each month at 5 pm.
